Back before we collectively reduced our attention spans to a few seconds, movie posters didn’t need to be so over the top. I recently saw a movie “poster” for Green Lantern that was a 6 sided 3-D standalone display with 4 different Green Lanterns, the “Bad Guy” and an action panel all thrown up in an attempt to get attention. Heck, the font size on the “Starring Ryan Reynolds” would have taken up much of a single paned traditional poster.
Compare something like that with the following:
I love it! A striking woman holding a smoking pistol. The names of the stars down at the bottom are rendered in something less than 20 point type. Love it, love it, love it!
